i know many people don't trust ebgames.com for release dates (i don't personally trust anyone right now), but they have had their release date as november for a long time....i just checked and now it's 3/31/2004...i'm not going to trust them for anything, but i just thought i should post this. heres the link:

THE OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE FOR HALF-LIFE 2 IS APRIL 5, 2004. I HAVE SUPER SECRET INSIDER INFO THAT HAS LEAD ME TO THIS CONCLUSION.

Hyped...i wasn't FORCING anything onto anyone. i was just stating some more information which probably isn't even real. this IS a half life 2 forum, isn't it?

What I'd like to know is the incentive these companies get to change the dates. I wonder if they just decide or they ehar something that makes them keep changing.

These stores set their own release dates as fail safes.

This way they won't get harassed for having a release date that has already passed.

When they actually get official word they will change it to a correct release date.

Just a side note Gameplay...the banner at the top has shot up to 154 days until release, or April 2004.

I don't think that these particular "speculated release date threads" do piss people like Dr-X and Hyped of but rather the every growing suspicion that HL2 won't be released this year but rather around Q1/Q2 2004.

They just don't want to believe the fact that they won't play HL2 on their PCs any time soon... Much like all those people which were still waiting the 30th September at home to be able to download the full version of HL2 although valve officially delayed the game 1-2 days before.

That ebgames date seems to be a very realistic one, probably even as realistic as it gets since even Valve themselves certainly don't know when the game will be released for real... but most probably around that date.

Speculation, my friend. There is no fact, in the matter of Hl2's release date. For all we know, the game could be ready...or, it could be far from finished. None of us know, but I highly doubt VALVe doesn't.
Remember; I said ''highly doubt,'' not know.
