Eccleston quits Doctor Who role

Oh, great. The poor bugger's only going to have two incarnations left after Eccleston :(

And I really can't picture David Tennant being one of them.

Ahh I was wondering earlier how many he had left.. No doubt a story will come along that solves that in some implausable (even for Dr Who) way :)

The incarnations thing was always a really clever way of addressing the fact that actors change.
Better than in bewitched etc where they just change a major character then act like nothing happened :p

hehe Soaps are just as bad with that. Changing actors and then acting like it never happened. Roseanne did it best though, they just wouldn't drop it whenever Becky changed actress lol.

Yeah.. the little in-jokes and comments when stuff like that happens are golden

Cool stuff :)

He's a good Doctor, but I never really saw him lasting tbh. For the record, I really enjoyed the new series. T'was a little dodgy in some places, but which Doctor Who series isn't?

On a side note, I bought the Cracker box set the other day - Eccleston's pretty good in that. Until he's not in it ;(

What are you crazy-talking people all crazy-talking about?

The new series of Doctor Who, the guy who places the Doctor has quit after just the first episode has been shown (though obviously the whole series has already been filmed so he's still in it for now) just wont be in the second series.. or rather the 28th season hehe.

one episode? :|

that's a rather short lifespan for an actor

well no, he did the whole series like I say.. but only one has been shown on TV so far.

ah, so they've filmed it already.... :p
yeah, he filmed the first series of this one, then less than a week after the first episode aired he quit. So the second series will be someone else in his place.

I'm new to the whole doctor who scene, so if you could explain what causes a new incarnation of the doctor (is it death?) and why is there a limit on the number of incarnations?

So now theres about 3 doctors left before they have to come up with an explanation to expand it?

I read about that shit in Wikipedia. I thought it was made up

yeah well.. hmm good point.. But the movie was shite so lets pretend it just never happened :E hehe

Who in their right mind would cast Eddie Izzard as Dr Who...?

It is disappointing that Chris isn't staying on for a second series as he really was a fantastic Dr Who. Is this other guy any good though? Sean Bean would make a good Dr Who, better then Eddie bloody Izzard anyway.
