Edge can be very critical. Many of my fave games they've given a 7 or 8 (which is a good score by their marking scheme. 7/10 in Edge = 9/10 in your avergage gaming mag )

Edge are a very mean bunch of reviewers, very, very harsh. And thier magazine layout is awful ><

According to gamerankings.com, twin snakes got 7 and snake eater got 8. I've no idea what the other two got though (my guess is 7/8 as well).

yes its more a hardcore gamer/ developer mag tbh alot about gaming technology,development blabla,not just your average pc punter mag and yes they are very tough but hl2 got 9,a few have gotten 10 i believe

And while Edge does have contain industry releated interviews and articles it also has far more games related material than any other mag out there.

It's nice to read a publication that actually provides information - rather than 'world exclusives'!! that involve trying to spread very little over as many pages as possible.

+ they are not total idiots, now I dont mind de reviews of the other mags, I think that a lot of them have good reviews, but lets take pcgameplay for example. In one article they bitch about how previews are a lot of times lies and that it is about the gameplay not the graphics, and gues what games still end up beeing on their most wanted list, I mean the best example is Doom3, was on 1 then after hl2 was announced it wasn't even on the list, os the only reason it was there was because it's graphics, atlest edge aren't like that.

Although I did find their review of jak3 really stupid, the only negative that I saw them mentioning was that it was a little to easy, and ofr the rest it was great, very diverse, good graphics, and yet it still got a 6/10.

Meh, ive never seen Edge before, but RE4 was a great game, i could see it getting a high score
