Editing halflife 2 SP maps.

I saw in the recent update that you know have ability to edit halflife2 maps. How do i open a hl2 map. Where are the files? Or do they just mean you can make a map for halflife2?

yeah all it really meant was they provided a premade configuration for making half life 2 games and the .fgd file for half life 2 single player meaning you have all the single player entities/models available to you.

You cannot open up or edit the official half life 2 single player maps, only create your own,

thanks for the response. then how is the sven coop team going to edit and fix up a few parts to make the hl2 maps coop?

It's not done by editing the maps, but rather creating a config file for each map, with the coordinates of any extra entities they're using in the map. It's a clever way of doing it, and with the right code in a mod, this sort of config editing can create maps for any game time compatible with your own mod.
