Why does it say i can only edit one post every 15 min.? I think thats a little too harsh, maybe a min. or something.

Yeah, like if you make a mistake on a post, people have an alotted 15 min to flame and make you look stupid.

maybe so you don't say something very insulting, and then after starting a massive flame war just go and change it to something totally different, there needs to be some kind of record, but it's still annoying.

Thats basically it. It is quite annoying i must admit, however there have been times, as people mentioned where flame wars have started and people try to make themselves innocent by editing.

But I think for every 1 flame war there are 10 normal topics that need to be edited. And if a flame war starts you guys can just close the thread

Thats true. But you can edit it within 15 minutes and that should be ok. What would you want to add after that time? There will probably be lots of posts after that and it would confuse new people to the thread. You might as well make another post. If its absolutely desperate then I'm sure that a mod like myself will edit it for you if you ask nicely.
