Effing driver updates...

How the hell do i update my Video card display drivers?
I got the latest update from Nvidia, uninstalled the old driver, installed the new one and ran the Steam diagnostic tool only to get a failure result from the display driver check.

Everything else is perfect.
It only says my drivers are out of date and gives me a link to the very same place i got the update from in the first place!

So anyone know how to actually update my display drivers?
It hasn't been a problem so far though.
But the thing is that i finally got the Orange Box and id like my computer to pass all the tests.

I've also had some pretty nasty driver update problems. The current one's so out of date that Ep1 won't play. All attempts to install new drivers have been futile, and I've ended up deleting my old one but not being able to replace it. I'll keep an eye on this thread...

Hmmm, I wouldn't take their word for it. If your manufacturers website shows the drivers that are most up to date are installed on your computer (Start > Run > dxdiag (display tab) then that is probably more accurate than Steam. I wouldn't worry too much. Just ensure you have updated direct x too, and the games should be fine.

Hey it's a cheepcheep avatar! But yeah, I've had this problem too, I just ignored it and selected "continue anyway"

Yeah I'm using the Omega drivers for my ATI card, which are out of date by Steams standards but everything still runs fine.
