How will/would you vote on mondays Canadian federal Election?

the candiadates:

Liberals (left of center) - running on platform of what the conservatives will/wont do, rocked by scandal, pro-corporate

Conservative Party- right wing conservative (not as right wing as republicans, closer to democrats), more right wing than ever since merging with scary Canadian Alliance, anti-abortion, anti-same sex marriage, pro-war, pro-military, pro-bush, scary rhetoric

NDP - New Democratic Party - (socially left wing, financially closer to center). Allied with the conservatives to take down the liberals, has some good policies buried by bashing of liberals and conservatives, will not win, may win opposition if liberals do horribly in ontario

Others: Bloc Québécois (left-wing, only in Quebec, want sovereignty), Green Party (enviromental), Christian Heritage Party of Canada (crazy religious group trying to push the idea of canada being a christian nation under god :upstare: ), others

as it stands the Conservatives are in the lead in the polls ..I will vote liberal but the NDP is closer to my ideology ..I'm picking the greater of 2 evils because I dont want the conservatives to get into office

In an ideal world and in a parallel universe where I lived in Canada and was old enough to vote, I'd vote for the NDP since 'socially left wing, financially closer to centre' sounds brilliant. So that's what I put on the poll. But if they don't have much chance of winning then realistically I'd probably vote Liberal - as you said, lesser of two evils. :/

ya I hate our system ..I havent voted for the ndp in over 10 years ..just because I never wanted the conservatives to win, I suspect many canadians feel the same way

even though I've always supported them, even though I personally like their leader and his wife (she's a great politician in her own right) ..the conservatives scare me too much. Canadians dont take too well to conservatism, it plays well in the prairies or oil country but not in the cities

I am Canadian and I'm voting for the Green Party.

really? heh, they're the only ones to even mention the enviroment in this election (layton does but usually solely on local issues)

I hate to say it it's a throw away vote, even though I like some of their policies

I know, but I support their policies and have never been a big fan of strategic voting. Yes, i don't want to see the Conservatives win( but they probably will) nor do i want to give my vote to the liberals after the great job they've done:hmph: . So Green's my best option(including the NDP) as far as i can tell, even if im throwing my vote away.

/EDIT: you guys wouldn't mind adding the green party to that poll would you?

So, thats the only party that doesn't "hate the economy" (NOTE: quote from RakujaiTenjin (sp?)? anti-abortions the only thing I disagree with.

they hate the economy with a vengeance, like most conservative parties they believe in throwing money at the military, and slashing social programs like daycare etc. Canada would be part of the coalition in iraq if harper had his way, not too mention stepping on individual rights, taking away freedoms and propping up religious ideology to suit the vocal minority (right wing christians) ..the conservatives havent been this conservative since ...well ever

edit: sorry Brinks, there's only 10 spots per poll, I couldnt fit it

dont be lookin at me like that!

I'm undecided still, I don't really want the conversatives to win but I don't want the liberals pulling the same old same old, but I also want the military to recieve some attention as they've been underfunded for a while now.

I don't follow your logic. You are saying the vote won't matter because the party won't win, but the reason the party won't win is because it doesnt get any votes!

Anyway, I am going NDP this time because I dont agree with the conservative views and the liberals havent done any good for my city.

I have followed this election the closest and can't wait to see the final numbers.

Steven harper will be the next canadian prime minister ;(

Well, I am not canadian but I live in Canada, if I could vote, I would vote for NDP

Well todays the day, boys. Harpers getting my vote, finally those gay baby killers will get what they deserve, but why stop there? Woman can still vote and people still have a right to choose there own religion, we must put a stop to this immediately and Harpers the only man for the job!
