Epic song at 1:30 (everything before that was some lame subliminal audio stuff):

I heard that song a few times on the radio but they would never say the band name until me father said who they were. I looked them up and they kick major ass. They basically make every song you hear on the radio or tv:

^^That is in Grand Theft Auto 4

More info on them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_Light_Orchestra

They also are a rare type of band that I thought only existed with the "Trans Syberian Orchestra" but I guess these guys were the originals. So kudos again to a British rock band coming to America!

My mom's best friend is Jeff Lynne's ex-wife. Before they divorced, when I was an infant, Jeff and Tom Petty sang me lullabys at Jeff's place one time :)

They do have quite a few awesome songs. I first heard of 'em here when someone posted Mr. Blue Sky.

Took you this long to find them?

Look up Three Dog Night, the number of things they're in will blow your mind.

Got exposed to them thanks to LOST.

*She made this song?!?!

Was played at the end of my college graduation and all I could of was the opening on Season 2. Everybody around me was like "oh what a corny song". :p LOST always had a bunch of great songs though from talented bands: http://www.losttvfans.com/page/Songs+Featured+On+LOST

I think almost every person on the planet has heard the iconic Mr Blue Sky at some point in their life. Even if it is overplayed and shadows some of their other great hits...it is ridiculously addictive. Try playing it in audiosurf too :D

Another band you should check out if you like ELO, is classic Supertramp.

For example:

(Not sure what the video is, but I couldn't find a better copy of the song)

Maybe it's a bit too abstract of a song to showcase the band, but whatever. The last few minutes are so ****ing epic.

Another great song - Crime of the Century

Again with the weird video.. these songs were before music videos.
