Empire Earth III - Alpha Test

Don't care, the second one sucked donkey balls.

I never played the second, but I found the first unfun.

Actually lucid, the main problem with the second one was the complexity and learning curve.

Apparantly they are streamling this one and making it a hell of a lot less complex. Personally to me it sounded similar to rise of nations.

Apparantly the basic idea (play over the course of human span) is still the same, but it is absolutely nothing like the original or #2.

I guess even the art style is completlye revamped. It's now a mixture of AOE3 and Warcraft.

idk it could be good.

Isn't this game kind of like Civilization 4, but in RTS format?

FILEPLANET ONLY ! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Paying for alpha software and download slots that can be found anywhere. Really now what's the point? Playing betas and the like ruins the final product in my view.

idk it could be good.

And along with them trying to be like other RTSes and failing miserably.(Rise of Nations)

And being completely illogical/unbalanced when it comes to different epoches fighting one another.(a medieval catapult destroying an atomic age tank in a few hits?)

And having a horrible weather system that was more of nuisance than anything else?

And the lame-ass building restrictions?

The list could go on.

I thought that the new graphical elements they are using such as paralax mapping was cool, then I realised it looks crap. The whole idea of the Empire Earth games was to provide an epic atmosphere to the player, and I just cannot feel that when your messing around with tonka-toy, balsawood type units.

Still I'll be giving it a go ;)

All i'm saying is that apparantly they are making a completely different game. This is not the same company who made Empire Earth 1. They made Empire Earth 2 to build off of the first one. Empire Earth 3 is suppose to be there own game and not built off the 1st or 2nd. I'm just asking you to not let the 2nd one discriminate you from at least checking out a demo because this game is not suppose to be anything like the 2nd or the 1st.
