I used Fraps to record the end cutscene fo Doom 3. I did this so people who don't plan on playing through the SP can check it out, and so they can speculate on what the end means for future games.

Download it HERE It's 27.4 megs, in DivX .avi format.

What I want to know, is do you think id will make a sequel (Doom 3-2?). I've heard people mention an expansion, but has there been any official info on this? I really want to see Betruger as the final boss, if there is a follow up.

Edit: Hmm, it seems the link doesn't work. If anyone has used yousendit.com before, could you help me out here?

The end cutscene sucked ass imo. Not enough detail on what really went on. And how betruger came to be so mad never really was answered. Too many loopholes and too many unanswered questions.

I really didn't like the ending at all. The fight with the cyberdemon was just way too easy and anticlimactic. There was no explanation whatsoever regarding Betruger and his motivations. It was very, very short for an ending scene, and a real let down. Hell, they didn't even explain how the marine managed to get himself out of the hellhole and back to the base. Most of all though, I was pissed because of the fact that we never got to fight anything that looked anywhere near as demonic or scary as the flying beast. Out of every enemy in the game, that thing was by far the scariest. For some reason everything else reminded me of an alien life form rather than a demonic one, which was a let down (save the hell creatures). I was just angry that they saved the most incredible looking enemy for a ten second appearance in the end-game cut scene. I mean damn, that really could have made for a very cool fight. In my opinion it was a lackluster ending to a game which, now that all is said and done, was rather lackluster itself.

You mean you haven't unlocked the Hell on Earth chapter yet?*

You guys are really missing out!

*This is a lie unfortunately. Would be cool if it were true though.

Again, Doom 3 isn't really that big on story. I think ID made a concious decision to put story line second, because I don't think it could have turned out this badly if they had made it a priority.

Todd Hollenshead himself said they were vary interested in Expansions, they just needed to shop around for teams who were worthy enough to make them.

can u try to get that link working plz? cause when i beat the game the end cutscene was just a blank black screen for some reason....

My thoughts exactly. Although, I thought that the flying hell beast was also very generic (reminded me too much of the flying beast in LOTR, and other books, games and movies inspired by it).

true, it would have been awesome to fight that flying demon at the end

with Bertruger's head as its tongue, it could have been an opportunity to portray more of his motivations/plans in detail. It would have also brought new meaning to the "head-on-a-stick" boss

hmmmm, maybe they are saving it for the expansions, afterall

anyway, the game was a failure gameplay and story-wise

I couldn't care less for any continuations

Uhhhh, it had prolly the smoothest gameplay of any game around right now except Halo and Half-life, if you mean that it is linear then I see your logic.
