Ending to easy? (spoiler)

First off I really enjoyed the game (you always seem to need to say that), but did anyone else find the ending battle where youre racing to the top of the reactor to easy?
I only died once and thats because I was busy looking around, it was a really cool ending but just seemed to be over really quick.

Yes, everyone did, but its meant to be fun more than anything. Its somewhat anti climatic, but I don't really see any other way.

The main thing is its interesting and different, its betetr than your usual boss character.

Yes it was intersting, and it was different, I was expecting another boss ending, I really liked Breens ramblings as you work youre way to the top. now bring on the expansion packs.

I quite liked the ending - it was pretty, tidy, tough but not impossible, fun and an appropriate ending
The game itself was nt particularly hard but it was one hell of a game!!

Well, its not that easy if you are a noob or if you play it on HARD mode.

The 2 gunships which teleport near should give quit a challenge (not to me) :)

Challenge? Not when you have plasma balls 2 meters away from you.
Paying the ending in easy mode was fun but......boring,way too easy.

Well, the gunships are the only serious enemys which come by at the end. There was also this Strider. I went past it by using a Combine-Soldiers body as a shield. You whouldnt believe it, but the Strider didnt attack me when I went past it with a soldiers body at front of me.

Striders are stupid......
The strider hurt the most, took a lot of health out of me.

Ha, try it on hard mode then let me now if it was easy :rolling: Took me forever to kill the damn gunships

F6....F9.....F6.....F9....F6.... :x

"You will be killed in every way possible, and some ways which are theoreticaly impossible"
Breen is the best bad guy ever.

The actual line is:

"When the singularity collapses, I will be far away from here. In another universe, as a matter of fact. You, on the other hand, will be destroyed in every way it is possible to be destroyed-and even in some which are essentially impossible.

But yes, i agree with you.

Why bother shooting the airships down?

I legged it to the top, I got up before the things you destroy deploy so I though that you had to kill them.

I used those plasma balls against that strider and to my surprise... it exploded to pieces... the gibs of teh strider is cool looking.

^Yeah, i picked up the leg with my grav gu and wanted to impale stuff with it.

well, you can also use its head as a good cover against enemy fire. I found it to offer much protection compared to those computer consoles.

^Protection against who? the strider is the last enemy.

The only last enemies which I remember after the Strider was those Gunships (easy targets though). Or was there also some Combine Soldiers? Should play the ending again... :|

Lol, there was a strider there? I completely ignored anything around me when I was blowing the reactor shields (or whatever) away and I survived anyway.

There was a strider, but that was in Our Benefactors, not Dark Energies.

I love Breen. He's bloody hilarious. GO BREEN!

what happens if you fail the last mission, is there a big cinematic movie of Breen leaving? and btw it seemed much eaiser compared to the Nihilanth, which was very challenging for me.

There are no out of game cinematics in Hl series.
If you die, you retry. You don't see what happens cuz u were dead.

It was kinda easy, I guess.. But by that point, HL2 had blown me out of the water enough, so it was good that they wrapped things up nicely rather than throw trial after insane trial in front of you.

I didn't even kill them :p I just shoved all the plasma balls straight into the portal. :)

Well, you sort of do in the original HL. If you've ever tried standing around the G-Man at the end long enough without going through the door, he assumes that you refuse, and you get to see the "battle that you have no chance of win-ning." I did that the first time I ever beat it, good times. I just walked around trying refuse in some way, like jumping out the window, etc.

The ending for HL2 was sorta anti-climactic. Those energy balls are so powerful, it's almost pointless. The boss battle in the first one was pretty fun, and although it was difficult, you just have to eventually find out the trick to it. HL2's ending was still good, though, for sure. I'm so busy now, but I want to go back and beat it again, I've only done it once.

You know what really would have been hilarous? You set the whole thing in JAPAN. Then you can have gigantic mecha boss battles, if you really wanted to.

Actually, now that i think of it, Japan probably had a ton of secret organisations with gigantic mechs. America didn't, they thought anime was just entertainment. What fools.

Eva!
