How does this game compare to Battlefield 2142 which came out almost exactly one year ago?

As I have 2142, but I want to know if I should have my friend get it, or start fresh on a completely new series of games which is ET:QW.

Never played Battlefield 2142, but if it`s anything like BF2, I think ETQW is far better, but I know alot of people prefer the BF games over this.
