Not sure if this will end up belonging in the politics section or not. It all depends on what kind of discussion takes place I guess.

Anyway its new military hardware being developed that I have to say sounds pretty neat.

Especially this one, it sounds a lot like tesla coils in Red Alert :D
For Peter Bitar, the future of directed energy boils down to money. Bitar heads Xtreme Alternative Defense Systems in Indiana, which makes small blinding lasers used in Iraq. But his real project is a nonlethal energy device called the StunStrike.

Basically, it fires a bolt of lightning. It can be tuned to blow up explosives, possibly to stop vehicles and certainly to buzz people. The strike can be made to feel as gentle as "broom bristles" or cranked up to deliver a paralyzing jolt that "takes a few minutes to wear off."

Bitar, who is of Arab descent, believes StunStrike would be particularly intimidating in the Middle East because, he contends, people there are especially afraid of lightning.

At present, StunStrike is a 20-foot tower that can zap things up to 28 feet away. The next step is to shrink it so it could be wielded by troops and used in civilian locales like airplane cabins or building entrances. Xtreme ADS also needs more tests to establish that StunStrike is safe to use on people.

cool, dont forget the others, particle beam weapons and lasers are already supposed to be in operation, or testing within the US, Russian, Japanese and Chinese militaries. The amazing thing about the particle beam weapon is that it was invented by Tesla 100 years ago, and theres was some video footage on a documentary I watched about Tesla of a test in operation, obviously you cant see the projectile but its propelled at near the speed of light, and it doesnt half cause some damage.

and it was actually said that the US government has or is deploying a test laser for use in Iraq

but all of these are rendered obsolete by Scalar inferometer's, Scalar Elctromagnetic Weapons.

"For some time, Russia and several other nations have possessed highly advanced 'extended-electromagnetics' (energetics weapons of a very novel kind, using a dramatically extended electrodynamics theory ... Most of these energetics weapons are more advanced than what has previously been known to the U.S. military, intelligence and scientific communities ... A major contributing factor holding back U.S. catch-up is that the flawed foundations of Maxwell's 1865 theory have not been changed by the Western scientific community."

"With the U.S. substantially behind in these 'new' strategic superweapons, a new Manhattan Project would appear to be advisable and warranted ... A sobering development that occurred early this year (2002) was China's deployment of both quantum potential (QP) weapons and negative energy electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapons (a type we originally called the MindSnapper to disguise its true nature. The QP weapons are the dominant weapons on Earth today, followed closely by negative energy EMP weapons ... We have not been able to ascertain exactly how many nations have the negative energy EMP weapons, but it is at least five ... The U.S. is still well behind ..."

If they're rendered obsolete by the Scalar stuff, then why are theses countries that apparently already have the Scalar technology still working on them?

Yes, I'm skeptical.

Supposedly the US military are working on them because, they failed to acknowledge the extended maxwell theory.. which stopped them from realising the possibility of such weapons.. Also these laser and particle weapons are still great for profit, and economic boosting, they can sell them to other countries and get a wedge for them, make some very bad people rich, etc, so its still viable because of that reason.

I wish i had the answer's, all I know is, if you had these Scalar weapons would you flash them around going hey, hey look at me. Using them in conventional warfare would most likely erouse there presence, I guess the owners are sensible enough to realise that its more of an intimidation thing if they are real, Something to use in extreme circumstances, a completely supreme insurance policey. If I was trying to be tactically clever id want to use them on the sly.
