engine error (?) (what's a vertex?)
when i play half life 2, i am on chapter 1 - i have left the train station - i get to a playground, with a seesaw, a slide, etc., i go down an alley, towards a doorway, i get the 'loading' message, then the game takes me to the main menu.
if i try to load a savegame, i get a CTD (crash to desktop) and an error box like this :-
engine error
too many verts for a dynamic vertex buffer (112281 x 32768) tell a programmer to up VERTEX_BUFFER_SIZE
then i get a couple of fatal error notification boxes, to tell me half life 2 shut down...
i have a gigabyte 2004 rz motherboard
amd athlon 2400
tornado geforce 4 mx
512mb ddr ram
i only bought this game today, i usually play morrowind - i think i'll be playing morrowind again...
any idea what this problem could be? i did a search on google, which pointed me to the same error message quote, but the topic had been deleted.
HELP!!!
thankyou..
