Ensemble to be closed down after Halo Wars

Old news.
I think they've lost a lot of steam over the past few years, anyway.

Perhaps instead of just spamming "old" we could use this thread to discuss Ensemble studious, who by all intents and purposes, were an awesome developer. I'm a huge Age of Empires fan myself.

AoE and AoE II were wonderful games. AoM was fun when I was twelve. But to be honest I don't really have any sort of bond with Ensemble. They just made some great games.

Mainly I have memories of my brother playing countless rounds of Age of Mythology online. The sounds the units make in Ensemble games is always unmistakable. They're one of the good RTS developers and they inject a great bit of care and attention to detail in the games they make.

It's no wonder MS is simply relocating majority of the talent into other more fiscally sound projects.

Age of Empires safe? I tough the series was in dire need of reinvention. har har. Assuring us that a brand name is safe is entirely different than ensuring the original developers will still be working on it.

you know that Halo Wars is doomed to worthlessness. No console RTS will handle the control issues and it is just stupid to get hopes up.

It's being specifically tailored for a console, I'm sure it'll be fine.

I just hope they bring it to the PC.

Well, it was originally supposed to be an RTS, so I have high hopes for this.

Which would have made it a total ripoff of Starcraft, but it seems to be looking for a way to distance itself quite a bit with mechanics

Halo Wars looks okay. At least it's not Halo 4, eh?
