Hello, all. I've been playing HL nearly constantly since it came out. I love that game. Whenever I get bored with the other shooters and GI games, I load HL into the drive and start grinning.

Anyway, I'm an old fart gamer-wannabe, and I joined this site to find out if the ugly rumors that I've been reading/hearing are true about Valve and Steam and HL2. I haven't made a decision yet when or if I'll be buying the game. Had an opportunity to try a free d/l, and passed it up because I really want to support the game publisher by purchasing it, since HL was such a bargain.

Now, I'm off to peruse the site.

I have nothing bad to say about Steam. I suggest you purchase your copy of Half-Life 2 on Steam, and support Valve insted of Vivendi Universal.
