How would I get a nice environment light?

light_environment doesn't affect the map at all, and I've been using normal lights so far. (Which don't look right on a outside map)

play with the brightness and color of it
add an env_sun as well, just make sure you allign it correctly.

It worked once then where I added some more stuff to my map the lighting dissapeared :S
