Ep2.refrenced memory could not be read.

Ok the title tells it.People have probebly seen this error before.When I start a game in ep2 the map loads up and I can play for about 10 to 15 seconds before this error pops up.Ive never had this happen to me yet.It just started this morning.It happens when there is npc's in the level I think.It does this for all the maps including custom maps.Its always 10 to 15 seconds into game when it happens.I dont know what to do now.

I have the same problem in many specific spots in the game. It's a problem a lot of people are having. I reinstalled Windows yesterday (it was due) and that solved some of them. I just got one at the beginning of Our Mutual Fiend, though.

I'm about to reinstall ep2 in offline mode so it won't update and see if I still get problems. But I don't know if it was an Ep2 patch that did this or an entire Steam patch.

Same Problem

Game was running absolutely fine only a day ago,now keeps crashing at points I passed before - surely valve should fix this..!!

Dunno but maybe this statement by startselect is true? Can anyone confirm this information? Would be great news indeed.

It definitely has to due with a recent update. That's good enough news for me because AT LEAST it isn't my system that's failing, and it will probably be fixed soon in a new patch.

Alot of people are having it by the antlions in Vortal Coil, but it's definitely not the only one. It's happening at all sorts of places throughout the game.
