Hi all- Asus A7A266-E
Radeon 9550SE 256MB
768MB RAM
Athlon 1700
Soundblaster Audigy A400
Got the game, installed fine, game launches to main menu, go to "start new game", loads all the way to last bar on loading & then... sound just begins to start, then sticks-game immeadiatley freezes, followed shortly by error message:
The Instruction at "0x24098391" referenced memory at "0x0000011c". The memory could not be "read".
Have updated video drivers, dropped video & audio settings right down, opened in window rather than fullscreen. Same all the time, except for JUST ONCE, when game seemed to actually start for a few secs, but had big red letters reading "ERROR" floating around the game screen!! Grrrrr...
Console at main menu reads:
maxplayers set to 1
Heap: 256.00 Mb
Parsed 15 text messages
Both ConVars must be marked FCVAR_REPLICATED for linkage to work (r_VehicleViewDampen)
execing config.cfg
1 CPU, Frequency: 1.5 Ghz, Features: AuthenticAMD MMX 3DNow RDTSC CMOV FCMOV
execing valve.rc
Spawn Server ep1_background01
Begin loading faces (loads materials)
End loading faces (loads materials)
execing skill_manifest.cfg
execing skill.cfg
execing skill_episodic.cfg
Precache called on a point_template that has no templates: template_BigDebris_impact_1

Game started
Initializing renderer...Warning: using WorldTwoTextureBlend on a non-displacement surface.
Support for this will go away soon.

Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/config.cfg
Worth mentioning here that even though my system's not exactly high end, Half-LIfe 2 & HL2DM have always run just fine
I'm far from expert at console stuff, but any help would be great- really want to play this game. Thanks guys
