Episode 1: Looking back

Excellent little article; always enjoy having a glimpse at the dev behind the games. Laidlaw's Lovecraft t-shirt is awesome.

Nice. Ever read Lovecraft? Some of his stories are okay, some are zingers. Only two stories ever made me put a book down because I couldn't stand what I had just read: It by Stephen King (one part, anyway) and The Shunned House by Lovecraft. His prose/lexicon is a little much at times, but few authors can genuinely give me goosebumps.

Currently reading 'The Lurker at the Threshold'.

Though I'm pretty sure August Derleth wrote most of it.

"It" scared the shit out of me! Esp. The House on Neibolt Street part. Back on topic:

"It all works according to rules in the environment: is the player in combat? How long has it been between combat moments? Are you doing anything else that's important? What direction are you looking? So that's going to be a different experience for every player. Some players will never create the perfect conditions for it to happen, and that's the kind of storytelling we really want to do more and more of - not just as a joke, but finding out how much of the story we can unfold in that way."

Explains why i didn't hear it the first time i played.

In my opinion, there is now a very high probability of Breen returning in some form.

You get a little glimpse of it when you're playing the game and hopefully that plays on and on in your mind - figuring out what the connections are between all these different things, and as time goes by the story unfolds and some of those things you speculated about will be confirmed.

What else is there to speculate about this strongly that was revealed during Episode One? (apart from the Mossman thing, but that's not really proper true/false speculation.)

Besides, what is better story wise? Fighting some telepath advisor, or fighting your old nemesis that you were so sure was dead? It'd be a very good swivel point for the entire story, and would create an entriely new speculation tree. Its win win, people! Except for Samon, its probably win lose; lose win; or just lose lose.

We all know that the G-Man is really Ronald Mcdonald... DUH! Hasnt anyone else seen the subliminal messages?

Nothing compares to tuna. And it's obvious that the G-man is a cross between Nemo and Gregory House. Wait... Father Grigori... It's Grigori-Man! And he's Father Grigori... Therefore G-man is Alyx's real father! Ha! Aren't you glad I figured it out? Aren't you gla-- *Beaten severely with german shovel*

Ha ha, nice theory.

Only problem is, everybody knows the gman is really Eddie Murphie and Alyx is actually a cross-dressing vortigaunt.
And Breen is Bush's (even more) evil twin.

I mean, why do i have to keep stating the obvious? :|

Shhhh. Gman is actually Guitar Man, the man with a Guitar. Except the Guitar is a samon. I mean a salmon. Oh shi-!!!

Oh, I heard G-Man is actually Gay Man. He's an activist for Universal Homosexuals Union. Combine are homophobic and G-Man is using Gordon against them. Using him every possible way.

And I'm %100 sure this theory is accurate.
