So, what's happening with Episode 2 of this(Sin Episodes: Emergence, duh)? Is it still on a "Q4 2006" release date? Is it still going to be released on Steam? I haven't heard anything lately about this. Well, not much at all actually.

It's quiet as hell. I haven't heard anything. I have looked at www.sinepisodes.com but it's just about Episode 1... commercials, where to buy, etc.

So... what's happening with Episode 2?

I think they canned it.

Episode 1 blew chunks.

This forum serves no purpose. :|

When it's done. I enjoyed Episode 1, I'll most definantly buy Episode 2 when its released.

You can't be serious. I doubt they would can a game of such high calibur. And the first episode, whilst not perfect, was better than most games for PC.

I am worried by the lack of any Episode 2 news. Considering we've heard loads from Valve about Episode 2 of their 3 episode game plan, we've heard nothing from Ritual about Episode 2 of their 9 episode game plan. Considering Emergence came out before HL2: Episode 1. Hmm... :x

You must be kidding. Emergance was poor, very poor. To say it was better than most games on PC is ridiculous, because it isn't.

The idea behind Episodic content is to pick up on what was wrong first time around. Gather feedback and use it to construct a better game. Plenty of feedback was thrown Ritual's way, and I'd like to see them use it.

Of course, Episode 2 already looks pap. The little teaser thing at the end was awful. Just awful.

I disagree, I believe the reason there doing episodic content is so the consumer doesn't have to wait 5 years for another game. They can make a episode in about a year and consumer can immediately start playing part one.

Bigk

No, that is just one of the benefits. Taking risks with gameplay is really a big part of it, you can see how people react and shape the next episode around how people reacted to certain elements the first time.

Ep. 2 got cancelled cause of their bombed team. It might come out around end of 2007, 2008.

Aside from the bug that made the AI rediculously hard to beat at release (although I, and others did) what was so bad about it? It had a story line, parallel in depth with HL2 : EP1, and diverses enviroments, with original layouts.

I'll admit the weapon selection was slim at best, but so was the SIN I. Its not enough to condem it. I consider it one of the better single player shooters out there.

As I say, what was bad about it, what didn't you like?

How about what was good about it? It was like stepping into a time warp and finding myself back in 98. The gameplay was dull, repetitive and poorly tuned. There was simply nothing to it. Diverse environments? Please.

Generic Warehouse? Check!
Dockside? Check!
Construction site? Check!
Offices? Check!
Factory? Check!
Corporate building? Check!

It's like ticking off the most generic environments list. These are all FPS clich?’s, and they were neither filled with depth or immersion. They were simply boring. Enemies? Mercs, mutants, and other rubbish entities.

Please, please, please don't compare Episode 1 to Emergence. Not the storyline. Just don't. Emergence had a stupid storyline. Evil corporate villain with a manic laugh, big boobs and a huge ass, and the moustache grunting Russian. "It's all about power! It always has been!". Then we have the start of the game. Now this, this was just silly. "I know you've been injected with evil serum-X Blade, but your going after the bad guy yourself! Hey, stop looking at my exposed thong."

It just wasn't good in any way, shape or form.

People still care about this game? Wow.

Ritual seem to make generic games, maybe now with lots of devs moving on we might see some real changes in direction
