Episode 3 on the Consoles

THE GMoD, it's not a poll, he's asking a question. Regardless of your opinion, Episode Three will most likely come to consoles, if VALVe felt differently they wouldn't be releasing Portal 2 on consoles.

HL2 was release for the original Xbox. With all the hype within the community, how would they not release it on console too. Also,the whole Portal 2 thing and the Gabe "We're sorry for saying your platform was shit to develop for Sony" thing.

It will come to console, but I hope it's PC first, as that's what I'll be getting it on.

I am neither right nor wrong, I am not stating that Episode 3 will not be released on Consoles I am saying in my opinion it shouldn't be.

It's a stupid bullshit elitist opinion. The only effect of a console release is that Valve gets more money and it receives a wider fanbase. Valve have had multiple console versions in the past and even simultaneous PC and console release and it has not affected the PC versions at all. There were no changes of control or anything between EP1 and EP2 due to having a console version. Valve do not change the PC version to suit the consoles.

It would be such a slap in the face for console owners if Valve suddenly decided to abandon the console and release Episode Three only on the PC. Why? Because in the past, they've released games on both the PC AND console. Why would Episode Three be any different? Anyways, I'm hoping that Episode Three receives the same features as Portal 2 does, like the ability to play the game on the PC after I've bought it for the PS3, etc.

This isn't a democracy, it's a forum. A place for sharing ideas, debating & rar rar. I'm not saying you do not have free speech, I'm pointing out something that should be very obvious.

& as riom said, not wishing for Episode Three to be released on consoles is stupid, ridiculous fanboyism. What's the big deal if consolefags play Half-Life? PCfags may have the better, more expensive system to play it on, but that doesn't make them, as players, anymore deserving of the best titles.

they were made for each other and besides you don't see anyone complaining about Halo only being on XBox (and pc) but not PS3
XBox players want half life 2 ep 3 on XBox but they have all these other XBox only games other people can't play. This is just what I think

If Valve sell to console gamers AND PC gamers, then Valve can make more money. As I like all of the games made by Valve, I want them to do well (sales wise) so that they can continue to make awesome games.

As long as porting it to console (or however it works) doesn't degrade the PC version of the game, I can't fathom a logical reason for not wanting it to come to consoles too. Unless it's some kind of childish "look at our game that you can't play nerr nerr" mentality.

The console version can be a complete abortion for all I care, I won't be playing that, and the important thing is that console gamers can enjoy it.

False analogy. Nintendo makes more money when people buy Wiis to play their games. Valve does not make computers or an operating system. They are third party and it makes more financial sense for them to release over as many platforms as possible. Nintendo make their own console and makes little financial sense for them to release over platforms that are not theirs.

I feel the same way, I think valve should hire the people who make thos good mods as well because those people deserve money for their mods like the ones at black mesa source or operation black mesa or overwatch mod guys, they should y the mods and make them offiial valve games, not sell them but use them as free downloads like alien swarm, Black mesa is taking years and I'm sure it will be better then HL2 for instance and it should be bought by valve as a free downloadable content. Overwatch mod should replace HL2 deathmatch Valve can make alot of money and they do.

Surely the only reason people have doubted that Episode Three would come to certain consoles in the past was the assumption that it was going to be a pint-sized project that would be a waste of time releasing in boxes? The fact of the matter is that nobody knows what form the project takes any more.

Failure of Episodic blah 'Episode Three' blah blah 'Half-Life 3' blah blah blah blah substantial retail release blah 2013 blah.

And yes HL2 ep.3 will be on consoles.
