I've been playing Episode two alot recently, (whenever i have the chance) and I've just got to Chapter 6: Our Mutual Fiend. Now I've gotten past the bit where you're inside Silo2, but when i close the Silo gates and look down at Alyx and the rest of them coming through the doors, the game freezes, sound loops, and i have to Ctr+alt+Del to get out of it.
Does anyone know a solution for me?

P.S. i am runnning Widows Vista 32bit, 4gb ram, AMD 2400+ Dual core, and nVidia 8600GT with 256mb.
EDIT: yes i do have steam, and yes i am running a legitimate version of hl2. (got it in the orange box)
