I very much dislike Equilibrium, it's an over masculine, adrenalin pumped, walking hard-on - of epic proportions, not worthy of a second viewing, much less any kind of praise. I love Christian Bale but his character in Equilibrium is boring and one-dimensional, in fact, no character in the movie is fleshed out beyond cheap one-liners and simple ideals, Orwell would turn in his grave if he saw this turd in his lifetime.

Some great action, but at the price of shitting all over a genre I consider precious and important, perfect example of over done holly-wood pishposh destroying something beautiful.

I agree with both babycrab and everyone else. It's extremely EXTREMELY stupid on any kind of intellectual level, which wouldn't be so bad if it didn't take itself so utterly seriously. Any kind of moral fibre the movie could have had is washed away by the sheer ridiculousness of it.

Then again, if you can suspend your disbelief for a couple of hours, it's great fun. Actions scenes second only to the Matrix in my book, in a purely testerone-fuelled oh-my-god did you see that shit kind of way

Cool video anyway. Could've been edited better to fit with the song, but I guess you can't argue with great action.

What a horrible, thoughtless movie. The ending was especially bad, I can't believe the large setup, and the high stakes all end up being decided by one stupid fight. All that potential that had been built up, totally wasted.

Since when is a little bit of pretentiousness a real problem? I mean, shit, you're supposed to suspend your disbelief. This kind of movie is not for thinking, like a lot of other movies are, it's for eating popcorn and enjoying some straightforward action.

I'll go ahead and point out that a lot of you are hating on it for reasons that also apply to 300, which also takes itself relatively seriously, whilst you guys all seemed to enjoy that immensely. Same principle, for me.

Oh yeah, I remember thinking how dumb it looked when he was shooting those monitors at the end (crossing his arms every other shot). It was supposed to look cool, but it didn't really.

I love this film. It's ridiculous and way over the top. But hey...that's what is great about it. HE'S A SENSE OFFENDER! *rotates shotguns* That has comic value of a high degree. It's no documentary of the future and it's certainly the poor man's 1984, but I still enjoyed it thoroughly.

Is that a music video or an actual theatrical production? Not for me though - it (like a lot of movies seem to do now) took what was done pretty well (in my opinion) in the Matrix and maybe James Bond and took it too far into hokeyville.

When I saw some trailers or footage I thought it looked really cheesy and therefore I thought I would not enjoy it. But I saw it at a friends place and it was awesome. The plot nor the characters have too much depth (then again what do you expect when everyone is not supposed to 'feel') but it is a good excuse for some great action.
