Erik Johnson Says "Shooting for tommorow"

Hey guys! I e-mailed Erik Johnson last night about the preload, and i just got a message back. It looks as if they are shooting for tommorow. Here's the message:


We're shooting for tomorrow on this now.

Actually, the message was sent at 12:00 AM Valve time, 3:00 AM EST, so i'm really not sure if he meant tommorow as today, or Thursday.

Yea...i'm going to put this in the info from Valve thread next.
 
Yep, he did the opposite as to what you asked him.... Delay, delay, delay :bounce:
 
Coincidence.....I dont know...ill belive it when it goes grey on steam :D anywas..... /igotz a geforce2 wit an amd anthlon...somthing? and ?725+ram? wit a raid mother boards ya know keepz the bugs out ;D anyways me be looking at steam tommarow :D d ....Perhaps..Halarious?
 
He may have meant today. He sent it at 12:00 his time, so i'm sure that was before he went to bed. "Tommorow" could have implied Wednesday. I won't believe it until i see it though. I mean, it's just what they are "shooting for".
 
im going to assume he meant thursday. i guarentee the preload wont start this week tho.

I really don't think that it's a date they're "announcing that they're going to preload on". I think, like he said, it's just something that they're "shooting for".
 
Id rather they used there bandwith to release an ungodly huge patch for CSS to fix the hundred or so bugs than preload audio files to whiney ati voucer penis heads :p

"shooting for" - This does not mean that we will definitely see it.

They haven't guarenteed you anything, they don't owe you anything - bare this in mind if it's delayed again.
 
One question:

Do you guys care so much about that pre-load anyway?

That's what i've been trying to get across. This is even a speculation for them.

It's like that old joke from SNL; You can never put too much water in a nuclear reactor.

Does that mean you can never put too much water in beacuse if you overfill it will flood and cause a radioactive contamination

Or does that mean you can never put too much water in because the rods are so hot that they need to be doused costantly....

maybe nobody here saw that bit...its pretty old.

Yes. I think it's more the meaning than the content.

Obviously we can't do anything with a pre-load so the content means very little.

But when they eventually DO pre-load, what will it mean? They surely wouldn't pre-load if the game is months away. That wouldn't make any sense. And I can't imagine they would want to let it sit on our computers too long for fear of how fast people open the files up.

So it's more of a meaning the game is "this" much closer. At least that's what it will mean to me :)

I'll second that. How can anyone scream "Delay" when there is no date/time ;)
 
What I would love is a pre-load of basically nothing.

All the b!tching and whining for a massive download filled with garbage except for a text file saying "Patience is a virtue, you whinging pr!cks."

Well if we all think it will come out tommorrow and valve preloads it today, maybe we will all be surprised and happy instead of sitting here waiting all the time :thumbs:

Valve seems to be masters of ambiguity.
 
Don't even bother getting you're hopes up guys.
 
I can see it now "Click here to Preload The Preload which will unlock next week to allow you to Preload the game" ... confused myself with that one.

they said last week it was ready, but they decided to hold off to let steam handle the CSS Beta update................all of this sounds like complete BS !!!!!
 
Why don't they just tell the truth. And why does the "community" push them farther and farther into (when it's done) (shooting for) type answers.

You want to be left in the dark because you'd rather be ignorant? If they just said what happened to delay the pre-load we would support them. But what we get are BS answers and more people who would rather not know.

There are enough people allready that have no clue what's going on.

I don't have ADSL so the preload can go straight to hell. P.S. first post for a while, Europe was fun...
 
shooting for....nice to see after 3 missed dates, their still shooting for a date, rather than have a concrete one set. Good ol reliable Valve :thumbs: Makes you wonder if the pre-load was ever ready.

Now when he said shoot for tomorrow, did he mean tomorrow as in thursday or tomorrow of next year, maybe tomorrow in a month....who knows anymore.

He said "to-mor-row" wich is ancient arameïc. It means "after the before then".

So they are shooting for after the before then.

Yes that's right they are messing with your mind.
