I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm absolutely desperate to play. :P

So here's the story. I've installed the latest drivers to my video card, an ATI 7000, and I updated my service pack (service pack 4 for Windows 2000,) but when I put disks in, it goes like this:

Disk one... all good.
Disk two... all good.
Disk three... all good.
Disk four... all good.
Disk five... all goo- wait... no, what's that!? Fatal Error.

When I get somewhat through the fifth disk, and it says "Registering product...", it craps out, and I get the error "Internal Error 2902. ixoFileCopy." And when I say ok, it goes right ahead and closes it 'prematurely', due to a fatal error. It then closes.

I'm so confused, and I'd really like to play! Does anyone have any idea why it won't work?

(By the way, the specs of my machine are as follows:

3.00 GhZ P4
512 Mgs RAM
ATI Radeon 7000 Graphics card
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional)

Anything would be appreciated... :(

Are you choosing just Half-Life 2 or CS:Source as well?

Actually, I figured out my problem and solved it maybe an hour ago, (running windows processes that I wasn't aware of.) I turned everyting off, checked thoroughly, and installed again. Worked like a charm, (both HL2 and CS)

I appreciate you asking though, thanks. :E

P.S. HL2 is the best game ever made.

i have the same problem!!

hey i am getting the same error message on disc 5. what processes did you turn off in order to get it to work?? this is really killing me i want to play badly. And also is there any way to download this game directly from steam if i bought the retail package from the store? i tried typing in the cd key and it tells me to do a intall of the game onto the computer, instead of letting me download from steam like with condition zero. Ok please help if you can! thanks

I remember there was a bug in installation that meant that you got an error message unless you install Counterstrike as well. Not sure if it's the same bug you have but try selecting to install Counterstrike next time.
