Error Message... i was just playing!

I was playing about an hour ago and decided to take a break for an hour... i come back to try and start up steam but i get this error message:

steam.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point _init UKm could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll

any help would be appreciated

Is this a legal version of Steam, or a cracked one?

Just a question, as this problem sometimes occurs with illegal versions
