error on installation

hi i am trying to install half life 2 on my computer but it wont install. it will spend bout 20-30 mins copying sum files and then it will come across this message:

'error 1334. the file 'hl2.ico1' cannot be installed becasue the file cannot be be found in the cabinet file 'hl24.cab'. this could indicate a network error, an error reading the cd-rom, or a problem with this package.'
can you please tell me what this means and how i can fix and make it install. i have installed it before on my other computer and it worked fine.

laptop specs are
1.8ghz +3000 AMD sempron
378mb ram
128mb ati radeon xpress 200m
40gb HDD

Even if installed successfully you won't be able to play hl2 with that system.

Why? Sure it's not a powerhouse or anything, but it's got DirectX 9 graphics and it exceeds all of the minimum specs.

Anyway, if as you've said, you've already installed it before: login to your Steam account. You can then download the entire game via Steam's servers. I just hope you're not on Dialup :P

Its a 1.8GHz laptop with 378MB system RAM and 128MB VRAM lots of heat not up to recommended Game Spec. and yes its a laptop. Could get maybe 10-20 mnts game play before it starts to lag down and overheat.

Games weren't designed for laptops and in case you decide to play them on laptops better exceed recommended requirements.
