error when loading

don't know if this is the right place to post this or not but i didn't see a better place.
when i try to load a saved game of HL2 i get the following error:

The instruction at "0x241f94f7" referenced memory at "0x0e76f41c".
The memory could not be "read".

Click OK to terminate the program


has anyone else gotten this error message and if so how do you fix it?

if it matters i just installed a new power supply but it's only 300 watts

Same Deal

Hi I'm having the same problem. Except sometimes instead of saying 'The memory could not be "read"' it will say 'The memory could not be "written"'.

It seems like this happens whenever HL2 auto-saves. I also tried quick saving and it crashed the game as well with the same error. The funny thing is that the games do get written because I can go back in an pick up where I left off.

i get the error no mater what i do. when i try to load a new game or a saved game. it doesn't matter. i still get the error
