I dont remember much from the original. Ill have to rewatch it.

NO!
NO!!!

Don't ****ing remake Kurt Russel's best movie! D:

Tango & Cash rocks my balls.

This remake will suck. You just have to look at the producer.

Well...here's to hoping it will rock, since the original was badass...

but we all know it won't live up to the expectations...;(

I must admit that I've never seen it, although I did like Escape from LA.

According to wikipedia this film is going to be made for dirt cheap, 9.2 million. If you include inflation that is less the original was made for.

"The Fast and the Furious" producer Neal Moritz is behind the remake, which will combine an original story for Plissken along with the story from Carpenter's original 1981 movie.
Uh-oh. Hopefully it will a good surprise though. ;)

9 million is NOTHING for a movie. Twelve Monkeys was made for 20 million and they had to use scrap materials to build half the things they needed.

Meh, I caught Escape from New York on TV here a few weeks ago and didn't think it was anything special. But then I gave up awhile in cause I couldn't get over the fact that noone seemed to notice he was hauling around a massive ****ing uzi. I half expected him to don a cardboard box at any moment...

Still, this is pretty much always bad news. With remakes, 90% of the time, they suck every time.

Well at least when its a remake of something that was mostly amusing for its ridiculousness, its hard to make it worse.
