Excellent interview there, MadMechwarrior! Quick question: was there ever an ES1 beyond the BF release, or is that just a name change to reflect the shift in development? Also, what were the limitations of BF that were holding you back?

The number changed to show a shift not only in development from one engine to the next, but also in design. The design was scrutionously examined and tweaked and then announced for HL2.

Well, when ES1 was out there was no modding tools to help you out. For example, we had to hack in 0g and shields and unfortunately they technically worked but did so very poorly and created soo many bugs. It just didn't have the feeling of an all out space mod and adding a captain interface would be truely hard in BF engine.

"scrutionously"...I love that word now :P .

Good Luck on your mod, I loved your media release a while ago.
