Well, once again, Scotland will not be a part of another major footballing tournament.

Not that I'm disappointed with their campaign (except perhaps the miserable performance in Georgia) - I'm still seething at the loss on Saturday, but at the same time, saddened that it ended on such a shaky and bitter note. ;(

Of course, England still have a chance but no real surprises there. As long as they get their fingers out and start showing their real potential they'll have a very strong game against a focused Croatia.

Northern Ireland probably have the toughest task after Scotland - defeating Spain at home and also relying on Latvia to smash the Swedes. Not an enviable position!

Unlucky for the Rep. of Ireland and Wales, although they had a good game yesterday. :)

/me confused at mix of feelings on recent football

Don't say football. American's will assume you're referring to overly large men wearing armour and running aimlessly at each other's heads.

F1 is much more entertaining than football. Besides, the england team have been so disappointing recently. There's no passion there at all.

Too many rich players. That's why I'd prefer Rugby. They at least have some passion left. Woot! Passion!

By F1 I guess he means formula 1 (IE car racing), which is frankly the most boring 'sport' (and I use the term loosely) ever devised. Perhaps if the guys all racing had the same powered car it might be vaguely interesting, but otherwise it's just a battle (or not) between 2 or 3 drivers, with the rest making up the numbers.

i was hoping Scotland would get in so i could support them, there was alot of bruhaha about the freekick leading to Italy's winner but i haven't seen it yet.

In terms of my country, pfft, the interest in the Wales game was virtually nill over here, our campaign was pathetic, Robbie Keane should not be captain, some players need a kick up the arse imo. Now i see the people being touted for the Irish job are Venables and Paul Jewell, why do the FAI exclusively look for managers from the english leagues, can't we take a look at some foreign coaches for once? :frown:

also qft Kadayi Polokov, F1 is so boring.

However i think Rugby is awesome.

Ehhhh, the referee issue is honestly swings and roundabouts.... Italy had a goal chopped off but that challenge was just shocking. Fairly speaking it wasn't like we weren't given anything, but such a bad call it does flare up the biased Scotsman in me.

Wales need a bit rebuilding mind you. Although there are players coming through, the fact that Giggs and Hartson have called it a day is no good.

Sweden hasn't performed very good the last couple of games. 0-3 with Spain. It's still 99% chance that we will make it, though. The only way not to is if Latvia beats Sweden while Northern Ireland beats Spain. That's not gonna happen.
