If you go to the EVE website and get a trial account to try out the game, you get 14 days. If you let a payed account give you a "Buddy Trial" you get 21 days. If you sign up for an account while on that Buddy Trial Account, the person who gave that trial to you get's a FREE 30 days. Payed accounts get 3 invites a month.

If you are wanting to give the game a shot, please let me know and I can ship you the 21 day trial. If you end up buying, you'll be helping me out. Then you can send your own buddy invites out!

Shoot me a PM if interested.

*EDIT* Please, only ask for this account if you have a slight chance that you will purchase. Due to me having limited invites, I'd rather direct you to Steam to get their trial account for 21 days instead....

Does it work with re-subscribing?

When you get a trial account, you have to create a new account with it...so I'd assume not..

UNLESS I'm wrong, and you can do a trial account on an already created account...

if pitz runs out of invites ill invite too :)

Me too, but don't you already get 21 days with Steam?

If anyone else is interested, I have invites too.

I think we have more supply than demand though it seems

I want to play Eve (again), but it seems like it'd take months to get anywhere. True of most MMOs I suppose, but still... I guess I'm used to WoW where I got full best in slot tanking gear in all of two months with wrath.

I don't really get that feeling. I used to think that, but it will just take you a couple of months to get decent and get an alright ship worthy of PVP.

It's still fun either way.

Just dont go joining goons because they are a bunch of fags! :P

They have added a fun little "newb friendly" part to beginning game. You research 2x's faster now. So you'll get to whatever you want *Mining, mish's, etc* twice as fast! You know you want one of my invites... ;)

I so want a month of x2 training. Sentry Drone Interfacing is going to take 24 days and amarr battle ship 5 is 40.

Hm. If I use this buddy trial thing, do I have to buy Eve again or is it just pay for subscrip at the end of trial? I already have a frozen account that has at least some stuff -not much-, but if the 2x research lasts a while it might be worth restarting, no?

How much is the monthly fee for this game again? I'm going to be doing a budget next week and may try and factor this in. I've been wanting to play for awhile now and I may take you up on this offer.

I'd say with this 2x research, it wouldn't hurt you really at all to start a new character. There are new ways to get your character created, also!

The first month is $20, after that, it depends on how long you subscribe. I think 3 months is 12 a month...or something along those lines.

So with the new character creation you start out with fewer skills, but train new ones twice as fast? Eh, but doesn't that mean you have to spend a bunch omore on skill books?

Nah, eejit, I played a normal trial for a few hours the other day, the tutorial gives you _loads_ of skill books for free. Afterburner, shield management, refining, etc. Probably got 10 or so from just the first tutorial.

Yeah, you start out with less skills, but you get to the skills you really WANT easier. Instead of having some random one you don't need to start with.

Next person to message me on steam (or here, I guess) gets me for the buddy trial thing :o. Off to eat lunch.

Dowloading the Steam trial atm. I tried Eve a long time ago and all these threads made me curious again. I also read on Steam that the tutorial is reworked again. Hopefully it won't bore me to death again. Any pointers here for my first couple of hours?

If you sign up for the trial and use your 14 days can you then get a buddy trial for an additional 21 days?

I always get my time codes from here

http://www.shatteredcrystal.com/index.php/eve_online

You can only get 60 day codes now wheres befor it was 30 or 90 day codes and is is $34.99 but sterlin wise differes on exchange rate. A wile back befor the world monies was broken I was paying ?7-?9 a month. It might sound expensive but to be honest, just dont go out boozing once a month and use that money for a month of entertainment rather then a few hours.

No Krynn, It's one or the other. But there is also a 21 day trial on steam.

Also, if you start paying for an account prior to your 21 days being up, that is still tacked on to how long you can play.
