Anyone playing? I thinking of getting back into it, though I think I'll have to start over since its been several years since I canceled my account.

I've been thinking of starting. I do like spaceships...

Well hell, go download the trial! I don't think you even need a cc for it.

I just made my character... look out for a hot redhead gallentean named ellisse:naughty:

Wasn't what I thought it'd be like...

I was thinking it'd be like a Freespace MMOG, but instead it controls a LITTLE like Homeworld, in that you click where you want to move and stuff.

And the game is damn complex, so much shit you need to learn about it... and it just got really tedious, so I gave up after playing it for an hour.

Just a little forewarning for those who want to try it out.

I've been itching to reactivate my account for the free 7 days that they're offering, just to get familiar with it again, but the thing is I wanted to wait for a week where I wouldn't be very busy, so I could make the most of it :p

The game is complex, but once you have the basics down it's easy and you never stop learning stuff, which is one thing I like about it for sure :D

I got scared off with the Dev cheating scandals and the insane learning curve.

eve online takes time to get into, but once you do, say farewell to your life.....its a great game though.....

I did enjoy how training for different ships, engines etc actually took REAL time. If it said 3 days and 27 hours to learn, then you had to actually wait that amount of time before you learnt it (carrys on learning offline - thank god)

Stupidly huge game, so much to do when bored, and its the one game i can think of that is actually controlled almost 100% by the players themselves.

Yeah, that's what I like about it. I reinstalled Oblivion last week and got bored after a few days playing it (not literally playing for days, but playing an hour or so at a time). Eve just has so many facets to it... unlike other RPGs where there are different classes, where you can either kill with a sword, kill with magic, kill with a magical sword, help the other people that are killing etc, Eve isn't all about killing, and the other facets of Eve aren't necessarily linked to your ability to kill things.

Yeah, there's a very steep learning curve, but there are also some very good in-game tutorials. Its been about 2-3 years since I last played, and the game has changed considerably since then, and I also forgot a lot of things, and the tutorials got me on my feet again very quickly.

Yeah I enjoyed it when I played and I also waht to give it another go but just dont have the time ATM.

For those that want to give it a try you can get the free 14 day trial HERE (no credit card needed).
