ever had one of those "Doh!" moments?

Well I just did.

So I have this e-mail address that I access through outlook express, and if anyone has used outlook express you know that when setting up an e-mail account on it you have to put in the e-mail address that you want people's e-mails sent to when they reply to your e-mails.

Anyway, so I've had this address for several months and I keep wondering why when I e-mail people I never get any replies. So today I e-mail myself to make sure my e-mail is getting through. Fine all checks out. I then click on the reply button on that e-mail and send another one to myself. I don't get this one however, so I think "strange".

Anyway, I check the e-mail I sent to myself and as you know when you click "reply" it puts the original message with a mailto link at the top. So I check this link, only to find out that it's pointing to the wrong address!!! It's pointing to some random hotmail account that isn't even mine!!! Turns out I've been sending people e-mail's and when they've been clicking "reply" they've been sending messages to some random guy's inbox!!

The worst thing is that I've sent angry e-mails to people or repeated sending the same e-mail 3 or 4 times because they never reply to me!!

I'm feeling like a bit of an idiot right now.

Yeah I have had a "doh" moment. I was working on my boss's pc the other day at work, adding 2x256mb pc100(yes old shitty pc, don't get me started) And so when I go to turn it on, push the button nothing boots up, I am like WTF, so I look on the system board making sure everything I disconnected is connected, so I try again, doesn't work. Then I go to the back of the pc, and DOH I forgot to plug in the power cord.

So that's why i get emails from a doctor advising me on the best form of piles treatment!

Heh, Outlook, one big mystery for me, seriously, I use the most complex programs for stuff like 3D modeling, map making, programming, but Outlook still is, and always will be, one big fecking puzzle to me.

I've got Doh! moments.. a lot, a very recent one would be that I went to the supermarket to get 5 pieces of meat. They had packages of 3 and packages of 2. So I thought, well.. no packages of 5 so I'll just take two of 3. Never occured to me that I could have just taken one of 3 and one of 2.... Doh! Such simple math ;(

I spent 3 months figuring out why my modem wouldn't dial in two years ago... which turned out to be unplugged... sigh...

I had a magic online user (Magic the gathering cardgame, online) with 500+ cards on it, and I wanted to start playing again, but so I download magic online, go to right in my password.. but I've forgoten it! No prob, click "forgot password" got it sent to the email, but this was a very old email address... that had been locked, so I had to get a new one, looseing all my cards.

I kicked a washing basket when I was walking down the hallway last night, because it was was dark...I didn't say doh, but I did go "Ah, my toe!" Then I said "Wait, nobody is awake" Then I thought 'I need to stop talking to myself like this'.

I went to reformat once, chuck in an old 6gb HDD I never use anymore and put all the important stuff on there (documents, save files, more documents, installers, family documents...). Go into windows setup, format drive D:, confirm, wait... wait........ oh shit, which drive was the 6gb again?

Well, this wasn't a 'doh' for me (I have them daily, however. :hmph... but for a couple other people... but I was involved! See, I was on my night run yesterday... and I was in kind of an isolated area where there aren't that many people... and there was this guy... and this girl... yeah. :naughty: And then I came skip skip skipping along! Yeah, well, they tried to pretend they hadn't been doing anything naughty, but they weren't quick enough. Then I gave them a sorta funny look as I went passed just for kicks... DOH! Luckily, I was running already!

Yawning, I got a cramp in my neck. I don't know how, but I kinda shouted "ARRRGH!"

It is 2:30am, and my whole house is about to erupt.
