Where do you see Steam going in the future? What are your expectations?

IMHO, Steam's getting better. :thumbs: The potential is there and growing rapidly, due to HL2. :cheese:

What I see from Steam in the future:

* Improved Stability

* P2P Level Networking to prevent choked servers and to recover from High Demand (Something better than BT)

* Content Delivery

I don't know about Steam itself, but I see this thread going to the Steam Discussion Board. :D

Well, Steam used to REALLY suck (slow, buggy, painful). Now it's pretty cool. I actually like it more than the old system.

I thought Valve where planning on using p2p like Bittorent to take the stress off the servers.

Is that implying that it is currently a bit unstable? It's never crashed on me, at least no more than any other game out there.
* Content Delivery
Shocking!
Sorry, but those two things seemed a bit strange to say ...
Anyways I want the E3 vids!

i dunno... i wonder if 3rd party dev teams would publish their games over Steam knowing their product will be available to the masses.. and how soon would we see this happen as well..

at first when Steam came out of the beta stages, it obviously was still very buggy but i think Steam became very stable around October-November 2003.. just MHO.

i haven't had any problems since October 2003 and even then i thought Steam would turn out pretty good in the long run.. so far so good ;)

i like steam as it is. its quite good. i just hope mod teams dont get greedy and make people pay for their mods now that they have the ability to do this :(.

I like the P2P thought....email valve!!! quick!!!

oooohh, yeah, i vaguely remember that. i thought it fizzled out or something.

Yaaar matey! thaaar she blows! can't wait for that one :E

I only wish that all sierra and valve games could be downloaded on steam.
(this may sound like I want it to be a new realone arcade, but that does not make it be that program, first of witch: steam is not a browser but it could provide demos)

example: tribes 2, tribes (don't know how they are going to do that.)

Yes, they employed the guy who wrote BT. But it won't really use uploading because of the ease of corrupting the GCFs with malware/viruses/whatever.
