examine HL2 guts

Hey
I'm working on a flash project right now and I would like to use some of the sound effects used in HL2. THe only problem I have is locating those wav files. In the media folder of HL2, all I see is a valve movie, so where are all the media sounds and how can I access them? please help!

You need to download GCFscape:

With that, open the Source Sounds.gcf in the Steam/Steamapps folder.

BTW, for it to work you need to have the latest .NET framework thing for Windows XP:
