OK I know I am stupid.
I bought a software that you could add effects to your pictures.
Software works great. I can save it to avi with there software but all of the effects are very
hard to see and no sound. BUT. I can save it as a EXE file Or a Screen Saver and The Affects and sounds are there and look very good. Soooo
does anyone know how I can convert the EXE file or the SCREEN SAVER file. to any kink of video format to put on DVD OR CD. I am at my wits end. :rolling: Well If I had Wits.
Thank You terrysmoose

Because knowing is half the battle.

What software did you get? You'll want to convert from an AVI file to Mpeg2 (the file type on DVDs) and not exe or screensaver format.

I Got Life Photo Maker. And after I bought the software they informed me that the sound affects and the quality of video is not avaiable on avi. only on scr (screen saver) or exe.

I have looked everywhere for a software that would convert it into anything that I can put on cd or dvd. Thank you for getting back to me. terrysmoose13

I dont think there is anything that can convert an executable file into an avi. An exe file contains no actual video or image data, its just a bunch of code thats run by windows. I'm afraid you'll have to find another software to do what you want. Does moviemaker not cut it for you?

krynn is right. you can only convert a video file to a video file. an .exe is a different thing.
the last resort would be to use fraps or something to take a video while the screensaver is running. i dont know about any other software.
also you dont need to sign your name at the end of every post.

I was afraid of that. The software I bought is very misleading. I liked it because you could add water effects rain effects and sounds, I guess I will be looking for another software. I Thank all of you who has helped me. does anyone know of a good software that will have these affects that you can add to your pictures and beable to put them on cd or dvd.
AGAIN THANK YOU SO MUCH. :)

Doing some searching I did notice a number of programs that say they can convert Flash (SWF) to Screen savers (SCR). Maybe it is possible to go from SCR to SWF with other programs?

I know SWF can be converted easily to MPEG/MPEG2/AVI etc with apps like Super.

If you can't get a program to do it automatically maybe you can piece it together. See if you can find what the Life Photo Maker does with audio files. Does it save your audio temporarily in a folder to use in screensavers? If there is a mp3 file or something with your audio track you made then maybe you can import that along with the AVI video side-by-side in an editor and combine them yourself.
Like in Virtualdub.

But you are going down a dead end road trying to use screen saver software to do effects that you actually wanted onto a DVD. Tough going backwards to get it on DVD.

While we're at it, do any of you guys know of a good HTML -> WAV converter?

Yeah, but you have to go through a bitmap/jpg first. Then synthesize the image with a program like Image Line's BeepMap.

Can someone help me convert .net websites into MP3 so I can browse the forums with my iPod?

Anyone know of a way to convert a microsoft paint to an adobe photoshop?

As for all the others that like to throw in their little side remarks and like to make someone fill like they know nothing. Well your right. That is why we to come to these forms is for help. If I was born knowing everything like you were, then maybe I wouldn't have to go to a form to learn something. I hope that someday when you ask a question and need help that you do not get answered with smart comments like you gave me.
AND AGAIN THANK YOU FOR THE FEW THAT DID HELP ME.

Found something.
Fortop SWF Resources Extractor
I have not used this program so I don't know exactly how it works. A popup window asked for my email when I tried to download the file. Even though I closed the popup window the file still downloaded so I doubt you need to enter your email.

"Fortop SWF Resources Extractor is a FREE software which can Extract images and sounds from any Flash SWF, EXE file, including those generated from Flash CS3. The software is able to extract image resources to JPEG or PNG formats, and sound resources to MP3 or WAV audio files. It is very easy to use: you only need to directly open or simply drag a SWF file into the software, and then drag the image or sound resources you wanted to the Explorer."

Since it extracts pictures and not video you will probably have to combine the AVI file that doesn't have sound and the extracted audio file in Virtualdub.

fyi screensavers are EXEs as well (programs) but just with a different extension (.SCR).

I am going to try it and play around with it for awhile.
I did try quick screen recorder and that worked but sound did not. So I thought I would add the sound in with Studio 10. But for some reason even though it is a AVI file and plays fine in Media player. It dose not move in studio 10. I have not tried windows movie maker yet. I am going to try the swf site you said. Thank You
