what is a good quality external hd with maybe like around 80gig. and is around the price of 125$

Either that or get a USB2 harddrive enclosure and a 3.5" harddrive.
The enclosures can be had for as low as 25$ wich saves you enough to plug in a 160Gb harddrive (or higher if you search a bit longer), for the same amount of money.

I'd go the DIY way
