Extracting programs.

Been having a few issues from WinRAR recently and i was wondering what variety of file extraction programs are out there for files like .zip and .rar. Any ideas?

I hate compressed programs/files that use exclusive extraction programs like Winrar.


.zip >.rar imo. Much simpler.

The Winrar program I had was only a trial version too. Can't believe they actually wanted me to pay for an extraction program. What were they thinking? :dozey:

I guess, but the extraction program itself is also much more complex.

How is it more efficient?

Are all these extensions all types of compressed/archived files?

There are more different files of this type than I thought. :O

Yeah. Right-clicking and choosing 'Extract Here' is mind-bogglingly complex.

You don't have a clue what I'm talking about. That's sounds more like Windows default Winzip program really.

If I still had the program installed, I'd show you a screenshot. It had a bunch of extra features and a complete GUI interface I had no idea what it was used for nor did I never bother to mess around with. I only used it once to extract some .rar files for an ES: Oblivion mod, as it was only a trial version.

I don't do a whole lot of file swapping/downloading from the internets anyways. Only when I want a mod for one of my games.
