yo, I have been at it again. Its been a while since I last posted my work but I spent about 5 hours on an F2000, I know its not finished and I havn't even bothered to put any smooth groups on it yet mainly because its not finished. But I wanted to know what people thought of it so far. They are some structure differences between the original and mine. Mainly because I didn't want to copy it to much and also it sounds better than saying "**** I did this part wrong, shit!" Anyway, its 2700 triangles and isn't game optamised. What6 I mean by game optamised is that I can basiclly delete nearly 1/2 of the triangles because the gun is so chunky and most of the other side will not be visabile. Anyway enough of my babling. Here it is. Tell me things I could change to the structure etc... basic C&C please. It will be much apreshiated. Thanks:

I think it looks nice, looks like the Raven Shield one (I think).
I haven't seen a picture of the real thing, so I cannot say anymore than this ;)

looks good.... i'll wait till a final version to give accuracy commnets... it looks like a good model. :)

*cough* and it's an fn2000 :)

Hmm imho there is little detail on the sights... otherwise its very good :) good job!

This is what I got from what you said: "I couldn't find enough ref pictures so I winged it."

I can't really crit this because it's not finished, and you said you "didn't want to copy it to much." There are a lot of places that could be optimized, a lot of places where the shape is incorrect, and a lot of places where the modelling could be improved to better recreate the actual shape when smoothed. I won't say anything until this is finished.

I'd round the edges, not bevel them, on the underside of the gun and trigger grip area. The channel that goes from the trigger area to the front of the gun should go all the way to the front of the gun (that's how the grenade launcher attaches). The area just forward of the magazine is modeled wrong and is missing the all important magazine release (should be seperate for animating). The magazine looks too thin. Any way... good start on the model. The F2K is one of my fav guns so bound to nitpick ;).

Same manufacturer, different model. The weapon in Raven Shield is actually the FN P90, which has a similar sleek design as the F2000.

I know what a P90 is, and I know that is also a weapon in Raven Shield. I do think that I have seen that F2000 in some game, and I think its Raven Sheild...

It's not in Raven Shield as standard, maybe as an addon, or maybe you're thinking of Splinter Cell.

You're probably talking about Splinter Cell or S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

I know were I found it now; A weapon page ;)
I can't remember the url though :P

In Splinter Cell they used the SC2000. I am confused. Ack! Oh well, nice model IchI.

They're false names. The SMG is the FN F2000 and the pistol is a FN Five-Seven.

i dont like it. looks to boxy. show me a finished product

They renamed the F2000 to the SC2000 so that they would not have to pay Fabrique Nationale to use the name.

I know the SC200 is fictional. I am just stating they used it. They said they used the FN F2000 in Splinter Cell and I corrected the name.

hmmm, havn't been working on it because I got:

Evangelion series + both films
Gundam seed series
Seriel Experiments LAIR
Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex series

So I have been like watching anime 24/7 and also I just bought a pure flat sony TV. Which I am collecting tomorrow because it wouldn't fit in are van :(

Enjoy your well-earned spoils of the holiday season ichi. Good work on the gun, I'm sure it will look great when its skinned. And its fine that its not completely accurate to the real gun, I'm more interested in the general look then if a screw or bolt is out of place. Besides, with the game being placed about 50 years in the future we can say the gun is just a different version of the same basic model.

Cerbrus. I might see if I can get my own unique style to it when I have time. Maybe actually get rid of the scope and try and distribute the bulkyness a bit more. I will play around with it like I do most things. Should be interesting to see how it turns out :P
