No word on a release for PC yet but it'll probably be free for PC in a few months time. Therefore console owners pay for exclusivity. Price is a little steep too, especially considering that, with enough time and effort, the maps could be made with the editor...

Fable 2: Knothole Island (360)
Price: 800 MS Points ($9.99)
Release: Mid-December
Content:
  • New location: Knothole Island

  • 3 new quests, each with their own dungeon
  • New items:
    • Armoured knight outfit (yay, armour!)
    • Assassin's gloves
    • Collectible Silver Book (??)
    • "Dozens" of new potions including weight loss potion (hurrah!)
    • Leather biker outfit
    • 6 new weapons
  • Uncover the secrets of the Resurrection Shrine
  • 50+ additional leaderboards
  • New augment system with new augments
History of Knothole Island
Hundreds of years ago, the tribe from Knothole Glade discovered the existence of an island far off the mainland said to offer its inhabitants full control over their weather. Tired of constant Balverine attacks and damp, dreary weather, the tribe elders decided they would find this mythic island and settle there. The ancient civilisation who originally lived on the island created the magical artifacts that control the weather, and hid them in dangerous caves so that their warriors would be tested every year.

3 New Characters
The Chieftain
He?s middle-aged and a typical, slimy politician. He takes credit for everything the Hero does when things go right, and is quick to blame anyone else when they go wrong. Puffed up, avaricious, self-important, uses big words.

Jessica
Owner of the Box of Secrets shop, where explorers can trade for extraordinary items she has collected over the years. She?s independent and one of the few people who stands up to the Chieftain.

Gordon
A shy inventor who is sent to mainland Albion in his submarine to find a Hero to save the island from the freezing weather. He spends most of his time creating incredible items such as the Flying Lute Axe, and having spent all his life on a small island, is amazed by the bridges and cranes he sees in Bowerstone.

This is the level of content we should be getting from DLC especially as it'll only have been 6 weeks since release. This may get me playing Fable 2 again for a brief while.

Both of these pale in comparison to The Lost and Damned for GTA4 though. :E

What is it with DLC these days. It seems like all relatively major games are making them, and all they are are features cut from the game on purpose, just so they can rip you off with them at a later date. Why do people buy this shit?

^this. i dont have either game but theres not much there, especially in the case of Far cry2

Far Cry 2 already has 3 shotguns I never use, does it really need 2 more?

^ Pretty much.

Crossbow could be kind of fun for about 10 minutes. I'll wait till it comes out free on PC.

Edit: rofl, this is entirely the wrong thread

I like FC2. I would NEVER pay a single penny for this FC2 DLC and laugh at how idiotic they must think we are for even offering it. I'll never buy any DLC for any game though so this isn't anything personal to FC2. Of course I'd never buy an HL2 episode either, but I digress. Basically if you can't offer me a complete game, I simply won't buy it.

Ahhhh, here it goes...

At yet modders will give the same amount (and sometimes the same quality) of DLC for free

Its a shame Game Developers won't develop these things in their own time for free; just to show how passionate they are about games and their community.

Insert obligatory "The HL2 episodes are as long as many full games genius" comment.

Silenced Shotgun?....What the hell.
Really, that is not worth paying for.

The Fable DLC should of been included in the game anyway! It's way too short, and I can see myself racing through those new Quests/Areas within 30minutes :|

4 to 6 hours is as long as many full games? Not in my opinion. I guess from an idiot's perspective anything is true.

No Country For Old Men ;)

Yeah I know. Realised my mistake after I posted. Couldn't be arsed to change it. Thought I'd give people a little ounce of enjoyment into their otherwise pitiful lives when they noticed I was wrong.

:E <3

I saw this and for some reason want to sell back Fable 2 now while it is still worth something. When I think about much of my time with it, it seems like a lot of it wasn't really all that enjoyable. It was more like I just wanted to get through with it. :(

Was hoping for some Fable 2 DLC that addressed some of the stuff from the end of the game but this is cool too.

So it needs to say 'complete game' on the box before you'll buy it? I'm pretty sure both of the HL2 EPs have been standalone games, and in terms of game time they both stack up quite favourably compared to say CoD4.

Can't wait for Fable 2 DLC, should be pretty awesome.
