As Peter himself would say, I think this is going to be really really neat.

There's about a year left in development and I predict much goodness.

Looks beautiful. Now if they can just make sure it works a lot better than that combat demo. I am sure they will, but they have made promises before...

Always looks good. Just has to be good. Like for instance, don't say the game is gonna have all of this and then two years later, take out everything that was actually interesting about the game.

Loved the first, despite the features cut, and this one promises to be better than ever.

I'm excited. This'll be the game I buy a 360 for along with GTA IV and Too Human.

Call me a poop face, but I think Oblivion looks better than this, graphically speaking.

No, Oblivion has more pixels and fancy shader effects - but, in opinion lacks any kind of original setting or design. I would much rather spend hours romping through this setting than Oblivion's. I'm sure many disagree though.

Fable 2's screenshots have style. Oblivion has its own style: realistic. Fable 2's is more arcadey looking which has qualities of its own.

Looks great, definetly has the fable style to it.

I look foreward with great interest (to Fable 2: The lost chapters on PC :p)

I was well impressed with the combat in the IGN vid. That with another year of tuning is going to kick ass.

It's also nice to hear they've basically finished the game, but are spending an entire 12 months polishing it to a fine shine :)

It doesn't look arcadey at all.

This is what WoW 2 should look like.

Not so much arcadey, more cartoony. It has it's own child-like and very fantasy style setting to it. I think it looks great, the style I mean, as these pictures don't do much for me. The combat ones look a bit meh, but I like the towns, and the towns and villages are what I like best about these sort of games, so awesome.

I'm not sure what "arcadey" is supposed to mean.

It looks cartoon-ish. I like the style.

The draw distance is impressive, it's literally as far as the eye can see with these Xbox games. Amazing with that much action going on it's no problem. I mean, if you aren't impressed, well then 'f' you, don't be.

I really liked Fable, I actually finished that game. I'd buy this.

I'm still not going to pay $59 for a game though, so hopefully it comes out for Windows, or I'll just pick it up later.

I think the settings in Fable have more character, especially that brothel

I expect a game that is touted to be utterly amazing and ends up turning out to be just alright. You know, like the first one.

Graphics are very nice. Love them.
Had fun with the first one too, so I'll check this one out.

And Oblivion is a completely different art style and direction than this. You can't really compare them. That, and they we made a few years apart :P

is it just me or did they clone a guy like 15 times in the third screenshot?

*covers ears*

Don't want to listen to Monyleux's hype. Don't want to listen to Monyleux's hype... don't listen to the overhype...

Or even better, the game is as good as the hype, or better...

to me, arcadey is like pac-man. So yeah, this game isn't exactly arcadey, but stylized. Whatever.

Agreed

I've been let down far too many times by the excessive hype to get any excitement from games produced under him. To be fair, Fable was actually a pretty good game, but I still felt disappointed.

If that video got one thing across to me, it was just that Peter Molyneux is a great big wanker.

Anybody else?

I think a friend is going to playtest this at the end of the year, and wants me to go with him. Woo!

are you supposed to be fighting the clone army?

For some reason I have the feeling it'll end up worse than the first one.

I loved the first Fable, absolutely loved it - might have had something to do with the fact that after a while I stopped believing any of the shit PM spewed from his mouth, and just took it for what it is; a great linear RPG with some cool customization elements.

Probably not - there's a year of development left, though.

With Fable Lionhead was pressured from start to finish - the result was a rushed game that didn't deliver on much that was promised. Fable 2 has been a 'it's ready when it's done' game from the get go. I expect much more this time around.

Sorry I used the word arcadey... didn't know that would throw off so many people.

Some scarce details this time, Molyneux doesn't want to let anyone down.

This is in for sure:

Apparently, you get a pet dog early in the game that changes alignment as you do.
A good example of how attached to the dog you become is best seen during combat. During the GDC demo, Molyneux fought several enemies. At the end of the battle, your dog was hurt and you could see him limping around on three legs. A good master would use his healing spell to take away all injuries. However, the Fable franchise is all about choice and you can leave the whimpering canine behind if you desire. The dog, however, does not mind if you are good or evil. Even if you cause him pain, he is so devoted to you that he will hop around injured for weeks and weeks trying to catch up to you.
Sounds fine. I'd leave mine hoping 3 legged f'king evil.

Looking good already. Wait until you see the castle.

Ah cool, RPGs and dogs are always a good mix.

I think I'll call him "Dogmeat II" :p

I hope he can turn really ****in evil, like jet black with red eyes. Like a dire wolf. And with killer mean wolf growling sounds, etc.

for me, Fable was a huge disappointment.. especially after all that they had promised to include in the game
and tbh, this doesnt look like much of an improvement
however, i'll give them the benefit of the doubt since they have so much time to work on it still
