I've recently seen Fahrenheit 9/11 and I must say it has changed the way I view how our country see things. I do not agree at all with what George W. Bush is doing, and I do not appreciate it. Even if these certain remarks Moore are imposing aren't true, I still have an insight on what we are doing. We are sending young soldiers, young husbands, young wives, into the fight for a reason of what? There is none. I also feel angered at the troops of America as well. If someone can make a comment of 'Let 'em burn' then exactly, what are the instructors of the US army teaching our military? If we attack an innocent country, for absolutely no reason, killing innocent women, men, and children, what will we have in store for our future? Will our streets be filled with constant gun fire? How about the constant stench of blood and of the dead? I am outraged anyone feels the actual urge to do such things to the human race. Blaming 'terrorists' is not a reason. Most of these 'terrorists' are non-educated, as well as grown up into poverty. War does not bring peace, it brings destruction.

Thankyou,
Rivett

I said it before, and I'll say it again. I'm not listening to anybody, let alone reading such an ungodly chunk of text, until they have atleast 3 months of membership and 200 posts.

Well, I haven't seen the movie... so I won't comment on it(except I think Michael Moore's views are always jaded, and he twists things and molds things together to create a false image), but I just wanna say...

War does not bring peace, it brings destruction.

The world's advances as they are today would'nt of happened without war.

Raziaar, why exactly do you say that? Why would the worlds advances be due to the constant destruction of mankind? CyberSh33p, if you cannot grasp the concept of a post, then why even post? A forum is for discussion of various topics, unless I have been mislead by the occasional intellectual of your basic Counter-Strike gamer....

I react negatively because 1. you should figure out paragraph spacing, but more importantly 2. I've been on forums before where pro-life or pro-choice people will sign up just to spew their propaganda. it strikes me as odd that a new member would join a halflife 2 messageboard and make their first post a small essay on a recent movie and their poltical views.

edit: oh, and another thing, your views seem radical and uneducated to me. not to mention they sympathize with murderers. this being said, I'm not pro-bush, war, or anything myself.

War has fueled the invention of many helpful things. Radar, nuclear power, the jet engine.

It's sad but true. Though if, in some vague way, you're trying to justify man making war on his brother i have to disagree.

michael moore is an extremist and they are a nono

i disagree with the way mr moore purveys his opinion but i like it nonetheless

go liberals

Ehem....

The place to discuss absolutely anything.

Also, paragraph spacing? Excuse me, unless you haven't read recent articles on such sites as CNN and various other sites, one paragraph of theirs would equal my short depiction of what I thought about the movie.

Somebody sounds arrogant...

You have so many fundamental flaws with your arguement its not even funny. I love how you base all of your assumptions off of one movie (a flawed movie at that).

I would reply to your argument, I would probably end up writing more insulting comments towards you than writing a rational counter-argument. I am glad that only 40% of America votes. I honestly don't think that I could handle people like you voting.

Maybe you should reconsider calling members of our Armed Forces murderers. Its that type of thinking that makes me want to flame you to a crisp.

lol, 3rd post and he's quoting the rulebook at you sh33p..

cybersh33p = pwned!

this should be a funny thread :)

:stare: lol.. cyber, your mother is over here, do you want to say anything to her before we retire for the night?

edit: i skimmed it :)

Ehem... where are you coming from now? we're past this issue, and it still strikes me as odd that this would be your first post. In of all things a half-life 2 community.

edit: timmy, I will have your head for this!
one mo' ting: timmy, did you even read the man's argument? ;P

Arrogant? Quite the word that describes me. Don't worry, I won't participate in voting. Well, since this thread has already been hijacked, I'd appreciate it if was closed. Once again, people cannot participate in an intelligent discussion.

Your opening argument(nay, opening post) consists of uninformed manure of such caliber that I cannot match. If you want an intelligent discussion, give intelligent support. Or is it not intelligent if no one agrees with you?

edit: oh, and timmy just sevred you :)

I meant otherwise. On other forums of such. I've tried this elsewhere, but it always fails.

Because people don't like flamebait and spontaneous political debates from forum members that joined 5 minutes ago?

shame on me for feeding the trolls though.

you should take that as a hint.

edit: just bring more substance to the table next time. search these forums and you'll find several threads extoling the virtues/villany of michael moore and his movies.

Also, sorry for double post. I apologize Cyber, as not being a resident of this forum but one day, I do understand where you are coming from. I just only had wished somehow, someday, someone can commit in an discussion without hijacking it. Could anyone point me to a 'Political' forum?

rivett, if you want a dull "serious" discussion that we've all had several dozen times w/o it being hijacked, try philosophyforums.

i'm not trying to insult you, just telling you how it is.. this is a FPS gaming forum, a "serious" thread has a high probability of being jacked here. :)

we've had large debates in these forums before, generally sparked by current events and started by members of many months. I myself generally take part in them not, as they don't 'amuse' me, as such, but nevertheless, we have them often. Just not out of the blue like this.

rivett, go **** around in the 'kerry picks edwards' thread.. that thing is dead.. go spruce it up or something.

You don't understand the concept of a debate. Its about being civil to another person's beliefs while disagreeing with them. You insult my beliefs and you then expect me to have a civil debate with you? I suggest you enter back into reality.

Yar, now that this is over, welcome to the forums, should you actually decide to stick around.

should you decide to stay, rivett, be prepared to get owned by me on a semi-regular basis.. everyone else here knows that i'm the man, i'm just giving you a heads up.

You are a fool.

*gives Rivett a cookie for honesty and audacity against an apathetic majority.* :)

Which I will. Oh damn, this is totally hijacked! 'blahblahblah' I am in reality. I may insult your 'beliefs', but when you do not hold an actual support for your ideas, it's a bit hard not to insult.

I don't care if it's already been said, but OBVIOUS MAN! :hmph:

Anyway, it's sad to see that it actually 'changed' someone.

You've taken it too literal Letters, by changed I mean I look at certain things differently now.

yeah well.. all this will end and begin again..

anyway, sh33p, at least you're not completely lost in your obsession like pressure.
