Failed to load Launcher DLL

Sorry to ask this, but I just installed Steam and want to play HL2 Classic.

However, every time I try to play, I get the following message:

Failed to load Launcher DLL

%1 is not a valid Win32 Application.

Any thoughts?

Reinstall Steam.

I've reinstalled steam, but now it's giving me another Launcher error message:

"The Specified Procedure could not be found"
