You can definately use gradients to get the dirtmap effect some use GI/radiosity for yeah. I think though, for the amount of time setting up all the gradients in the above technique, for dirt maps it probably wouldn't be much use. while rendering an untextured model with a single white background and GI to get the dirt effect might take longer than the gradient method, setting that up would even them both out.Mikademius said:Would this be simular to the way dirtmap calculates?
