Fallout 3 - Broken Steel Debut

Oh shit thats today! I just got The Pitt too, sweet.

Probably gonna fix it ASAP, probably just the force telling me to go to sleep at 7 am.

Though I'm satisfied having read this on the wiki, I think Mikael will agree (spoilers what happens immediately after the ending of regular storyline):
Broken Steel alters the ending of the original Fallout 3 to allow continued play after the end of the main quest line. This means that when it is time to go into the reactor at the end of Take it Back!, you can still go in yourself or you can send one of three side characters. However, even if you go yourself, you do not die. Instead, you survive the ordeal and wake up two weeks later at the Citadel
 
aww. Why has no launch of any of the DLC packs gone right yet? :(

I'll leave it for now and see how it is later.
 
Gonna buy this + Operation Anchorage in a few days I think, already own The Pitt.

i dont remember anything wrong about Operation Anchorage.

figures they had to have the one with "broken" in the title not work. thats just silly.

There were some problems but not on the scale of the pitt. For example I had problems with some of the achievements unlocking at the time.

i have the 360 version, is there a cost for this expansion or is it free??
 
Mine is fine. I had no problems. It was a pretty cool expansion though. :D I loved it.
 
I've only got this rapetastic speed for a couple more weeks, then its summer. My home speed is 90 kb/s D:
I'm just lucky this came out now, and its the last FO3 DLC that we know of.
 
I was playing this all after noon and almost to lvl 18. really fun and i noticed its a lot easier for quests to be done and somehow the overall experience is great! i haven't played this game since December 2nd and it was perfect amount of time in between. I also just planted a grenade in someone's pants and it was funny
 
Is there a reason why I can't see Broken Steel in Marketplace? Not downloading till I get money on my card tomorrow, but it would be nice to know that it would be available when I do.

BTW, I find Death Claws easy to take out now; it just involves a breadcrumb trail of mines and a combat shotgun. Old Olney rocks! The Death Claw gauntlet is fun, I managed to get the schematics and a hand when I was level 5

It was the 1st icon I saw after I signed on....but you could just go to the Game Marketplace through the guide then go to Fallout 3 and get it from there
 
Thing I posted earlier was just the french version, eng will be sometime tonight. I'm not sure how to display the french one

It's not Live's fault, it's Bethesda's. If they delivered a broken (lulz) DLC THRICE, the blame's on them.

That said, I like Broken Steel's aesthetics (as usual) and some of the contents.. perks are not included, since they currently hold the title of "Most Retarded Munchkin Cheats Ever".
 
If you bought it earlier before it was pulled, you can go to the my media tab and select to view all and download it again. Some reason it restarted my download a few times but eventually it installed.

really?... when i couldnt see it on my xbox marketplace yesterday morning i just logged on to xbox.com, and it was available to buy there so i, you know, did. anyway, turned my xbox on again and it started downloading and i completed it yesterday afternoon.

the achievements seem to be bugged by the way because i unlocked the story related three but theyve not been added to my cumulative gamerscore. if i browse my games library in list form i can see fallout 3 (amongst my other games) having XX amount out of 64 achievements, but when i click fallout 3 from the list to see individual achievement names it shows me having unlocked three more then the previous screen out of 64. its quite odd, and xbox.com says ive not unlocked any of the broken steel achievements.

luckily im not the only person whos had this according to the interweb.
 
anyone else think its funny that its called BROKEN steel?
 
I think it's so obvious, its not worth the mention.
I wish these damn super mutant overlords gave more xp than the stupid masters. They're freaking impossible to kill and I'm hitting them with 100 (max) small and big guns! Good thing I've got paralyzing palm, probably the only reason I'm not out of every damn ammo I've got.

It's Live's fault as well for not testing to see if it works. MS are supposed to authenticate everything that comes on GFWL and XBL, yet somehow they've managed to release something completely broken. Someone at MS should have tried a dummy run first to atleast make sure if download and installs. It really does make me think why MS takes weeks to authenticate yet still miss these obvious errors.
 
Well I stumbled upon This Link on the bethesda forums, well it says a lot

But there was a problem. Possibly related to GFWL DRM or possibly file corruption; either way, BSPC got pulled from the GFWL Marketplace. The Xbox version appears fine, with only some minor issues with acheivement tracking and gamerscores not updating.

This has been the state until now, with no information save some minor "we're looking into it" statements by Microsoft and Beth. 18 hours and still going strong.

However, there is some hope - If you bought and downloaded a corrupted copy before it was pulled, you should be able to go into your DL history on live and redownload to get what seems to be a working version. Those who haven't already bought it are out of luck until it comes back on the live marketplace.

I just got my repair skill to 100!! I love having near perfect weapons and I stop after each fight to do some tinkering with some newly acquainted weapons

I just got to repair 100 and level 20. I am waiting patiently so I can go to level 30
 
I got a mod a long while back to go up to lvl 40 :P
Though Broken Steel has helped a lot, even some older missions give shitloads of xp now to move up in the 20s, it's impossible if they didn't.
