A Lego version of a painting by Francisco Goya entitled The Third of May 1808. The painting was commissioned by the Spanish government to commemorate Spanish resistance to Napoleon's armies during the occupation of 1808.
 
Took me a second to recognize the first. Knew the second right off from the history books. This is awesome.
 
the dali one is very good.
 
I'm impressed, Stern actually rehosted the images he put in the post.
 
very good web page, I'd love to do some for HL though
 
I've seen like 4 or 5 of these before and I assumed at the time it was the full set.

Fantastic that there are so many.

Even in Lego form, this is one of the most depressing images ever
