Hey, guys, or whoever who hears me. I've got a really big and strange problem with HL. The first, original part. It is totaly legal, I got it registered, spent two hours on it, and I haven't even passed a half of the game, when I got this giant fan problem. I got stuck on the Blast pit level, I can't get trough that fan. It's just not working to strong to lift me. I turned it on, got out from under it, jumped down... and nothing actually happened. I just fell down and it made a mash potato out of me. Cute much. I couldn't attach a screenshot, but I think (believe or hope) you know, what place I am talking about. What happened to that fan anyway? :bonce: Maybe, I should do something else? Maybe, try to climb the walls or something. Please, help. You are proffesionals, aren't you? :imu:

If it's the part I think it is the once you turn on the fan it should take a few moments to spin up (and allow you time to get out from under it) then it should be strong enough to lift you to the top.

Are you playing Half-Life or Half-Life: Source?
Try using http://imageshack.us/ to host a screenshot.
If it isn't working like it's supposed to you could always cheat and use noclip to get to where you need to go.

Half-Life: Source is a bit iffy with the physics.

Thanks, Operational, the idea with the cheat code did work. The problem was that the fan didn't work strong enough even in an hour since I've turned it on. I hate fans.
Now I have a new problem. How to turn off the cheat mode?

If you used noclip you should just be able to type "noclip" in again to turn it off.

That's kinda strange - retyping noclip in the console should work....
Try "sv_cheats 0".
If that doesn't work try noclipping to where you want to go then save the game, exit, load half-life again then load your game.

I'm sorry I don't know what else to do - turning it on should be just as easy as turning it off.

but it is not! now i'm stuck at the rail level. Without being able to ride the rails... thanks for trying. yeah, now I'm in real trouble.
