An actual modern, 2D shoot'em up on the PC that's actually not a flash game? Whoa! The apocalypse must be coming! The Metal Slug Series is awesome BTW. So was all of the Contra series. With exception to those lame, top-down Contras.

Looks good, I'm actually writing a scripted 2D Shooter at the moment (in C++ but using LUA to script the enemies, powerups, weapons etc) although I suck at art so mine probably won't look anywhere near as good as that (at the moment the ship is represented by some photoshop clip-art).
